Concerns about the Output Power and Actual Driving Force of R6 PRO II

Thank you for your patience. The R6 Pro II configuration information has been released and pre-sales will begin on the April 15, 2023. Observant friends may have noticed that compared to the first generation, the R6 Pro II's battery capacity has increased, but its output power and endurance have decreased. This is actually a shift in our new generation of player product design philosophy.

All-In Architecture Diagram:

Firstly, we have designed the All-In architecture for the dual 4499EX, which provides full power output from the DACs. Each output of the 4499EX is equipped with an I/V conversion circuit, allowing the 4499EX to fully utilize all the capabilities of the DAC. With this architecture, the response speed is fast, and the density of the sound has noticeably improved. Moreover, with the 4499EX utilizing a resistor switch, the sound even has some R2R appeal.

Secondly, the dual DAC run in dual mono mode, and works fully whether for single-end or balanced output. Each DAC is responsible for the conversion of one channel of the sound. In this way, even single-ended earphones can enjoy the full benefits of the dual DACs, and even SE line output utilize all DACs. It is like buying a 12-cylinder Lamborghini Revuelto, I do not want six cylinders to be non-functional.

Of course, the cost of these designs is complex circuitry, high power consumption, many signal pathways, and demand for exact component matching.

This circuit design maximises the performance of the DAC section in portable products under the various constraints of portability.

Furthermore, since the output is Class-A capable, it is capable of constant maximum electric current supply to facilitate instantaneous response to quick signal changes, outputting accurately regardless of changes to the output load, yielding strong and stable sound.

Here, it should be emphasized that there is a difference between power and driving force. Generally, only full-size headphones with high impedance require high voltage output. By putting this high voltage through low impedance in-ear earphones, it can generate large power numbers, but this not practically necessary. Considering that the main application scenario of portable players is using low impedance in-ear earphones, it is better to focus on the control of driving force at low force rather than increasing force, as the actual required force in listening is low and the precision required is high. Enhancing control and faithful restoration is also our design philosophy for portable products in the future.

To sum up, the R6 Pro II's electricity is essentially all dedicated to the All-In architecture's DAC circuit. Endurance will be lower than previous products, and lower again in Class A amplification mode. Of course, our endurance estimates have always been conservative...

Since you've already bought a supercar, you can afford to spend a little more on gas.
